Police Search For Big Rig Involved In Trucker’s Hit And Run Death

Published:

The Kansas Highway Patrol is on the lookout for a suspect truck driver who they believe was involved in a hit and run crash that took the life of another trucker in Neosho County yesterday.

The crash happened at 12:30 p.m. on US-169 two miles north of the K-39 junction. KHP says that a northbound truck struck a southbound truck, causing the southbound truck to run off the road and overturn. The driver of the crashed truck did not survive. The northbound truck did not stop.

KHP says that they are looking for a truck — likely a red Freightliner — with heavy damage to the driver’s side. Investigators found the steps to the driver’s side door at the scene. Police also believe that the trailer will show damage on the driver’s side.

If you have information on the crash, you’re asked to contact KHP at (620) 431-2100.
