Trucker In Missouri Rest Stop Standoff Charged For Making “Terroristic” Threats

Published:

Prosecutors have filed felony charges against the truck driver who forced the shut down of I-29 due to a rest stop standoff with police on Friday.

The standoff began when 911 callers reported that a truck driver was pointing a long gun out of the driver’s side window of his vehicle and that he appeared to be tracking vehicles along the interstate.

The rest stop near Dearborn was evacuated and I-29 was shut down in both directions during the four hour standoff. Police were able to end the standoff peacefully by breaching one of the windows of the truck.

No injuries were reported and no shots were fired during the incident.

The 25 year old truck driver, Khrurshed Haydarov, was arrested and taken into custody. His BAC shortly after his arrest was .0381.

Platte County prosecutors charged Haydarov for making terroristic threats, a class D felony.

With the help of a Russian interpreter, Haydarov entered a not guilty plea to the charges in court on Tuesday. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
