A trucker who fired into the cab of another truck during a road rage incident has been sentenced to 30 months behind bars.
“Too Many Lights” Sparks Road Rage Shooting
The shooting occurred on December 8, 2015 on I-75 near the Tipp City exit in Ohio. Harold Baker Jr., 51, was traveling south when he reportedly became agitated because a Volvo which was also going south had “too many lights and was blinding everyone.” Baker told Ohio State Police that the Michigan-based Volvo driver also tried to run him off the road, so he rolled down the passenger side window and fired a shot into the driver’s side door.
The Volvo driver called 911 and reported the incident. Both drivers had pulled over onto the side of the interstate by the time police arrived. Ohio police initially arrested both drivers, but only Baker was charged.
Trucker Faces 30 Months Behind Bars
The Volvo driver was not hurt during the incident.
He was convicted of attempted felony assault charge and sentenced to 30 months in prison. He was also convicted on a charge of improper firing of a gun inside a motor vehicle and sentenced to a year in prison, but both sentences will be served concurrently.
