Man Hit By Semi While Fleeing From Police On U.S. 95

Published:

A man who is believed to have been involved in an earlier shooting was seriously injured when he was hit by a semi truck while fleeing from police in Las Vegas today.

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. on U.S. 95 near Boulder Highway.

Police say that the suspect is believed to have been involved in a September 22 shooting at a nearby trailer park. Las Vegas police who wanted to question the man about the shooting attempted to stop him in his vehicle as it was traveling north on U.S. 95, but the suspect did not comply. He exited the highway and then reentered U.S. 95 traveling southbound.

One of the tires on the suspect’s vehicle became flattened during the police pursuit. The suspect then left the vehicle and tried to flee across U.S. 95 when he was hit by the truck.

U.S. 95 is shut down in both directions from Flamingo to Boulder Highway for the investigation.

The man in the shooting at the trailer park survived, but had bullet fragments embedded in his head.

No other injuries were reported.

This is a developing story.
