Man Pleads Guilty To Reincarnating Trucking Company After Being Place Out Of Service

Published:

The owner of a Pennsylvania trucking company has pled guilty to charges of “reincarnating” after being placed out of service.

VN Trucking was issued an unsatisfactory safety rating and ordered to cease all operations in December of 2014. According to investigators, VN Trucking owner Volodymyr Kurylo reincarnated the company as AV Trinity.

In March 2015, the FMCSA issued an Operations Out-of-Service Order and Record Consolidation Order for both VN Trucking and AV Trinity.

The FBI raided the VN Trucking facility in December 2015.

Investigators say that Kurylo continued to dispatch VN trucks and drivers and used other motor carriers to conceal his actions. He continued to use VN Trucking bank accounts and facilities to conduct business after he was ordered out of service, according to the investigation.

Last week Kurylo pled guilty to charges of using a facility in interstate commerce to promote an unlawful activity. He also admitted that he FMCSA in the name of a reincarnated carrier with the intent to distribute the proceeds of an unlawful activity.

Earlier this year Kurylo’s employee Vitalii Vitiuk pled guilty to CDL fraud charges. Investigators say that he provided false residency documents for student drivers who lived outside of Pennsylvania and that he helped individuals to obtain fraudulent CDL permits, CDLs, non-commercial learner’s permits, and non-commercial driver’s licenses.

The Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General worked with the FMCSA and FBI in the investigation into VN Trucking.
