A multivehicle crash involving up to 30 passenger vehicles and 18 wheelers has closed I-74 in both directions in Dearborn County near the border of Indiana and Ohio this morning.
Authorities say that near white-out conditions may have contributed to the crash.
Indiana State Police say that multiple 18-wheelers have jackknifed, contributing to the pileup crash. Troopers on scene expect I-74 to be closed for hours and advises drivers to take the New Haven Road exit and take U.S. 50 as a detour.
Police are unsure how many injuries occurred as a result of the crash. There are onsite reports of fuel leaks and vehicle entrapments.
