Workplace Rampage: Trucker Rams Deputy, House, And Barn

Published:

Police say that an Ohio trucker rammed several vehicles during a spree that began with an incident at his workplace and ended with a police standoff yesterday.

Workplace Argument Leads To Violent Behavior

According to reports, the incident began around 3:20 p.m. at Howard Trucking in Fairborn when truck driver Keven Rigsby appeared at the office. After an argument, he allegedly threw papers and pictures around the office, then used his bobtail to ram a passenger vehicle in the company parking lot, pushing it through a fence.

Home, Barn, And Cars Severely Damaged

Rigsby is then accused of driving to a residence and using the bobtail to ram his ex-girlfriend’s mother’s car into the home and then ramming his ex-girlfriend’s car into a barn, causing massive damage to the buildings and to the vehicles.

Slow Speed Pursuit And Standoff

Police soon spotted Rigsby’s truck and a slow speed pursuit began. At some point during the pursuit, Rigby crossed the center line and rammed a deputy’s cruiser, sending it into a ditch. The deputy suffered minor injuries.

Rigsby eventually stopped his truck on a bridge on Mills Road and refused to come out, telling police via phone that he had a gun. After some time, Rigsby exited the truck and surrendered to police.

Truck Driver Pled Not Guilty To Felony Charges

Rigsby faces felony charges, including two counts of breaking and entering, vandalism, menacing by stalking, felonious assault on a peace officer, and failure to comply.

Rigsby pled not guilty when he appeared in court this morning. His bond was set at $200,000.

It is unclear at this point whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.
