An unusual two truck crash in Columbia City, Indiana, left a semi stacked on top of a car hauler yesterday.
Two Truck Crash Ends With Semi On Top Of Car Hauler
The crash happened around 9 a.m. on U.S. 30 in Whitley County when an empty car hauler was stopped for a red light in the eastbound lanes, according to a witness report. The second truck came up on the car hauler from behind, hit it, and launched into the air, coming down on top of the car hauler.
Both trucks burst into flames.
Both Truck Drivers Survive Bizarre Crash
The car hauler driver managed to escape from his truck with burns to his hand and shoulder. Witnesses claim that he shouted, “I’m alive!” as he exited his truck.
The second truck driver was also able to escape without serious injury.
U.S. 30 was closed in both directions for hours as crews used a crane to pull the mangled trucks apart.
The driver of the truck that crashed into the car hauler admitted to police that he had failed asleep.
