A truck driver has been arrested for his role in allegedly causing a seven vehicle crash that killed a teenager on I-75 in Georgia over the weekend.
Teen Killed In Pile Up Crash
The crash happened on Saturday at 10:35 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 near Georgia Highway 20. Police say that a semi driven by 50 year old Daniel Crane rear ended a passenger vehicle and pushed it into five other vehicles.
Summer Ann Lee, 18, who was driving the car that Crane initially rear ended, died as a result of the crash.
Seven other people suffered non life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
Driver Faces Vehicular Homicide Charges
Crane was later arrested. The charges against him include Vehicular Homicide 2nd Degree, Following Too Closely, and Commercial Vehicle Hours of Service Violations.
Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor.
Crane was held on a $1,390 bond.
The crash is still under investigation.
