Police discovered that a truck driver had passed away in his cab along Michigan’s Dixie Highway after his employer became concerned that they were unable to contact him.
After the trucking company was unable to contact their 63 year old driver for several hours, they used GPS to locate his truck and contacted police.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call Tuesday morning and located the truck along Dixie Highway.
Police say that the driver was found unresponsive shortly after 7 a.m. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators do not believe that foul play was to blame for the driver’s death, but they are still working to determine how he died.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
