Trucker Unable To Stop For Crash In Front Of Him

The incident happened around 1 p.m. yesterday on Highway 370 at Highway 94. Two cars crashed in front of a Hogan truck hauling liquid soap. The truck driver was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting the both of the cars. The crash left the cab of the truck dangling off the side of the Discovery Bridge about 30 feet above the ground.

Remarkably, the truck driver did not wait for rescue crews to extract him from the cab. Rather, he was able to get out of the truck, climb up the cab, and made it safely onto the bridge on his own.

The truck driver did not suffer significant injuries during the crash, but the two people in the passenger vehicles were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The crash shutdown the highway for several hours as the soap was transferred to another truck and tow trucks worked to remove the truck from the bridge.
