A truck driver will face charges after losing control of his rig and driving off a bridge into a South Carolina river yesterday.
Mail Truck Driver Fishtailed On Bridge During Heavy Rain
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-10 near Camden during heavy rain. Postal Service truck driver Joe Stroman, 60, reportedly attempted to pass another vehicle when the truck fishtailed and smashed into the right and left guardrail, then went over the left guardrail into the Wateree River below.

Stroman was able to get out of the truck on his own. He climbed on top of his rig to wait for help.
Stroman was transported to the hospital. He is expected to recover from his injuries.
South Carolina State Police believe that weather was a factor in the crash. They cited Stroman for driving too fast for conditions.
The mail truck was hauling equipment, not mail, at the time of the crash.
