Woman Dies After Clipping Truck, Sending It Crashing Into House

Published:

A woman died yesterday afternoon in the South Suburbs of Chicago after making a sudden lane change which sent a truck crashing into a house.

Sudden Lane Change Causes Car To Clip Truck

The 28 year old woman was driving a silver Toyota on Illinois 394 around 3 p.m. when she reportedly made a sudden lane change from the far left lane to the far right lane, which was occupied by a white 2006 Freightliner.

During the lane change, the rear end of the Toyota clipped the front left side of the truck, sending the car spinning in front of the truck. Both vehicles veered off the road to the right, according to reports.

Crash Cause Truck To Hit House

The driver’s side of the Toyota collided with a tree while the truck slammed into a house. The car wrapped around the tree then became pinned against it by the truck’s trailer.

The Toyota driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The 68 year old truck driver was not injured.

The house that was hit by the truck was fortunately vacant.

No other injuries were reported.

Illinois 395 was closed in both directions for the crash.

An early police report indicates that speed was a factor in the crash.
