Worker Killed Trying To Guide Truck Into Loading Dock

Federal authorities are investigating a workplace accident in which a Massachusetts man was killed when he fell while trying to guide a semi into a loading dock.

Worker Lost His Footing While Guiding Truck

The accident happened at Hi-Way Safety Systems in Rockland on Monday. Investigators say that 37 year old Scott J. Frey was attempting to guide a truck into the loading dock with hand signals when he is believed to have lost his footing on the platform ramp.

Frey fell between the loading dock and the truck trailer.

When authorities arrived, Frey was lying on the ground and bleeding from severe head trauma.

He was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Truck Driver Has Not Been Charged

Investigators say that the truck driver involved in the incident possessed a valid CDL and has not been charged.

OSHA and Massachusetts State Police are investigating the incident.
