A new app promises to help truck drivers and fleet managers stay compliant with the coming ELD mandate by providing automatic voice assistance.
FleetUp has introduced what they call the trucking industry’s first “Voice Over HOS (VoHOS)” technology integrated into an FMCSA-approved hours of service app.
App Provides Voice Reminders On HOS Events
According to app developers, the VoHOS technology provides audio reminders to help keep drivers and fleets compliant with hours of service regulations: “FleetUp VoHOS is triggered by HOS events such as trip status, remaining driving hours, potential violations, DVIR completion reminders, app training and usage. Leveraging step-by-step voice instructions to comply with ELD regulations, the Voice Assistance feature reminds drivers to log out and end trips, complete pre- and post-DVIRs and take necessary breaks to avoid shift violations.”
FleetUp To Cut Down On HOS Violations, Fines
The app is designed to significantly cut down on truck driver ELD compliance training time and will reduce the chance of expensive fines, according to developers. “As a FMCSA-certified platform, HOS violations can be eliminated when complying with Voice Assistance commands within the app,” said Ezra Kwak, chief technology officer at FleetUp.
Fleet managers will have access to the amount of hours driven, rest breaks, and drive times for their employees through the app.
FleetUp also provides voice assistance to keep Spanish speaking drivers compliant in their native language.
The app is currently available for Android devices from the Google Play Store. It will be available for iPhone users in 45 days.
