This morning Arkansas police rescued a Florida trucker who was trapped by flood waters.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a truck driver who needed assistance on Highway 37 in Elgin around 7 a.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they said that the truck had been swept away by the flood waters with the truck driver still inside.
With the use of a boat, officers were able to pull 63 year old driver Ibrahim Velazquez out of the truck and to transport him to safety.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office “is stressing to motorists not to bypass a road closed barricade, not only are you putting yourself in danger but you are putting others coming to help in danger as well.”
