Chicago police deployed a bomb squad to respond to an unattended semi truck parked in an unauthorized area at the O’Hare International Airport early this morning.

The truck was discovered parked outside of Terminal 3 around 3:50 a.m.
Bomb Squad And Arson Unit Investigate Truck In Unauthorized Area
Authorities were unable to locate the truck driver. As a precaution, the bomb squad was called in to investigate the unattended truck. Arson officers were also deployed to investigate the scene.

The truck was towed away to a secure location around 7 a.m.
Truck Driver To Be Questioned By Authorities
The truck driver was located around 8 a.m. and will be questioned by police.
An FBI spokesman stated that they do not believe that the truck was actually a threat to the airport. The FBI also said that the truck driver may have been suffering from some sort of medical issue.
It remains unclear what, if anything, was inside the truck’s trailer.

Operations at the airport were not affected by the incident, according to Chicago police.
