BP agents seize 1,500 pounds of marijuana hidden in roof of tractor trailer

More than 1,500 pounds of marijuana, in 131 bundles were found by Tucson Sector Border Patrol Agents with the Nogales Station on Wednesday night, December 13, 2017, according to Tucson News Now.

Nearly $800,000 Worth Of Marijuana Found Hidden In Trailer Roof

BP agents pulled over the truck with 32-year-old driver from Mexico after a police canine reacted to the tractor-trailer at an Interstate 91 immigration checkpoint near Amado.

Upon searching the rig, authorities discovered bundles of marijuana hidden on the roof of the truck. The amount of marijuana found was worth an estimated $770,000.

The driver and the marijuana are currently in the custody of the Drug Enforcement Administration for prosecution.

The driver and marijuana are still under investigation.
