A major crash caused the cab of a truck to separate from the rest of the rig and fall off of an overpass in Maryland this morning.
The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. on U.S. 15 in Frederick, Maryland.
According to reports, the semi struck a guardrail on U.S. 15 and crashed off of the overpass onto the road below.
At some point during the crash, a witness said that a bridge abutment sheared the cab of the truck from the chassis.

The truck driver was alert and conscious after the crash. He was airlifted to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Maryland Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
The incident is causing heavy traffic delays in the area, but all lanes are expected to reopen soon.
