Driver arrested for owing $11,500 in tolls and has 99 violations

The owner-operator of North Jersey trucking company was charged with theft of services and toll evasion on Wednesday while crossing the George Washington Bridge between New York City and New Jersey.

According to NJ.com, Edwin Galvez, 42, owns LaCieba Trucking of North Bergen.

Galvez drove his white 2007 freight liner tractor-trailer through the E-ZPass Lane around 10 a.m. without paying.

The light on the toll flashed to indicate non-payment. Police immediately pulled the truck over.

According to Joseph Pentangelo, spokesman for the Port Authority Police Department a check showed Galvez owed $11,500 in tolls and fees and had 99 previous violations.

Galvez was arrested and charged with theft of services and toll evasion.

The truck and trailer were impounded.
