Employee Injured While Unloading Truck After Roll Of Plastic Explodes

A worker unloading a truck at a Massachusetts business was injured this morning when a roll of plastic inside the trailer exploded.

Explosion At Plastic Fabrication Company Leaves One Hurt

The explosion happened around 8:20 a.m. at Pro Pel Plastech in Deerfield.

Police say that a worker was unloading the plastic when he said that he felt unusual heat coming from one of the rolls and saw a blue flame. The explosion sent other rolls of plastic flying out of the trailer.

The worker’s injuries are thought to be non life-threatening.

The Deerfield Police Department says that the cause of the explosion is unknown, but foul play is not suspected at this time. The State Fire Marshall’s office will join in the investigation. Troopers from the State Police Commercial Vehicles Section are also on hand to assist in the investigation.
