“Evidence” Semi Burns In Tennessee Highway Patrol Impound Lot

Investigators say that a semi truck being held as evidence in an impound lot by the Tennessee Highway Patrol was likely set on fire intentionally.

Multiple agencies including the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Knoxville Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at a impound lot in North Knoxville just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday night. When they arrived on the scene, a Volvo semi truck that was being stored as evidence in an ongoing investigation was completely destroyed by flames.

Knoxville Fire Department spokesman Captain D.J. Corcoran stated, “Our arson division is investigating it as a set fire.” The Tennessee Highway Patrol declined to comment on the nature of the investigation for which the truck was being held as evidence.

Anyone with information about the suspected arson is asked to contact the Knoxville Fire Department at 865-595-4480.
