Kentucky Troopers Find $1.5 Million In Heroin During Commercial Vehicle Inspection

This week the Kentucky State Police discovered 33 pounds of heroin in a semi during a routine commercial vehicle inspection along I-24.

The drug bust was made on Monday in Lyon County around 7:30 p.m. After pulling over a semi for inspection, troopers discovered a small amount of heroin in the possession of one of the two men in the semi. After searching the truck, KSP discovered 33 pounds of heroin hidden in the truck.

The estimated street value of the seized heroin is $1.5 million.

The truck driver, 29 year old Roberto Orozco, was charged with felony Aggravated Trafficking in Heroin. The truck passenger, 50 year old Alberto Leal-Martinez, was also charged with felony Aggravated Trafficking in Heroin. Both men are Utah residents.
