The Owner Operator Independent Driver Association has launched an aggressive new campaign to fight against the overregulation of the trucking industry.
The new campaign is called “Knock Out Bad Regs” and OOIDA says that it was created to send a message to the new White House about how the trucking industry is currently struggling under the burden of an increasing number of regulatory rules. OOIDA’s campaign is supported by a new launched website at FightingforTrucking.com.
While many overreaching regulations are mentioned, the ELD Mandate and Speed Limiters are a major point of contention throughout the site.

“Interstate truckers must put up with thousands of trucking-specific federal regulatory rules. It takes a publication the size of a thick phone book and hundreds of pages of tiny print to contain all those regs, yet very few have been shown to advance highway safety. With the new President and Congressional leadership on Capitol Hill committing to reduce regulatory burdens on small businesses, we are launching a multifaceted campaign to rally the trucking community to push lawmakers and the White House to keep their promises.”
The site focuses on empowering truck drivers in the fight against overregulation. It features:
