Early this morning an 18-wheeler crossed the median on Mississippi Interstate 10 causing the death of a motorcyclist.
The truck was heading west, then suddenly crashed through the highway median. While moving through the median the 18-wheeler hit a light pole. The light pole fell onto westbound traffic causing two more accidents.
There was a motorcyclist involved in this series of accidents. He/she was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. It is unclear if the truck driver suffered any injuries.
Although there was quite the disaster to clean up, the accident has been moved to the shoulder.

WLOX reports, “Because of the earlier detours, traffic near the intersections of Highway 90 and Washington Avenue, and Highway 90 and Hwy 57 are both backed up.”
If you are traveling in this area, make sure to allow yourself extra time this morning as clean up is ongoing.
