OSHA To Investigate After Worker Dies After Being Found In Tanker

Published:

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be investigating the death of an employee found in a tanker at a Missouri business yesterday.

A man in his forties was found just before noon yesterday inside a tanker at Kaw Services in Pleasant Valley. He was apparently in the process of cleaning out the tank when he collapsed.

Emergency personnel found the employee unresponsive inside the tanker.

The worker was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Foul play is not suspected, say police.

OSHA arrived at Kaw Services shortly after the man was found. Specifically, OSHA will be looking at whether the tank’s atmosphere was tested correctly.

The worker was described as a “veteran employee.”
