PennDOT To Begin Year Long I-80 Construction Project

Heads up, drivers.

PennDOT To Begin Year Long I-80 Construction Project

Today PennDOT will begin a year long project to improve an eight mile stretch of I-80 in Venango County in northwestern Pennsylvania.

I-80 Revamp Project To Last Over A Year

The construction project will begin at the Venango/Butler County line and will continue to a point one mile west of Exit 35. The project will involve pavement resurfacing, bridge maintenance work, adding signage, and concrete patching.

According to PennDOT, the project will begin on July 6 and end on August 29, 2018.

PennDOT says that they do not forsee major detours, but there will be many lane closures during the project. PennDOT asks drivers to “slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
