Police: Red light running big rig kills one, injures two

Texas police say that a truck driver ran a red light before crashing into two passenger vehicles in the Houston suburb of Humble early this morning.

Fatal Crash Blamed On Red Light Running Trucker

Officers from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene of a fatal crash at the intersection F.M. 1960 and Kenswick just before 1 a.m. today.

Investigators say that a semi truck driver ran a red light at the intersection, t-boning a pickup truck and pushing it about 200 feet. The semi truck also crashed into another passenger vehicle before coming to a stop.

The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people who were also in the pickup truck were transported to the hospital.

The single person in the second vehicle that was struck was also taken to the hospital.

The truck driver was not injured in the crash.

Investigators Working To Determine Cause Of Crash

Police are working to determine whether drugs or alcohol could have been a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
