A truck driver discovered a puppy inside of a sealed plastic container on Monday evening near the Fish Lake exit off Interstate 90 in Spokane, Washington.

Trucker Finds Startling Surprise When She Gets Out To Stretch Legs

The truck driver stopped to stretch her legs when she discovered a mysterious container on the side of the road.

The truck driver took the dog to Spokane County Regional Animal Protective Services (SCRAPS) to be taken care of. The heroic driver named the dog Charley.

The driver reported that there were food and water in the container, but since the container was sealed, the dog was also urinating and defecating in the same area.

SCRAPS bathed the dirty little puppy and began nurturing it back to health. There were no reported injuries to the puppy.

KREM2 news reporter commented, “Whoever did that is a terrible human being, I hate that so much.”

Charley is currently doing well and living with a foster family. He is not yet available for adoption, but his foster family does have the choice to adopt him themselves before others will have the opportunity.

There is an investigation going on that hopes to uncover the person who abandoned the puppy on the side of the roadway. If you have any information you are asked to call SCRAPS at 509-477-2532.
