Yesterday Swift Transportation announced that it will be increasing the cruising speed for its drivers to 65 m.p.h.
From yesterday’s Facebook post from Swift:
“MORE GREAT NEWS! We are excited to announce another HUGE change to our fleet: our truck speeds have increased!
Current drivers: please inquire with your driver leader about this policy. If you are not a current driver, and would like to discuss our opportunities, please message us or contact a Swift recruiter at (888) 424-0950.”
Swift offered up the following details on the speed change:
“Details: Effective November 27th, 2017, Swift company trucks will go from 60 mph on the pedal and 62 mph on cruise, to 63 on the pedal and 65 on cruise. Drivers, please refer to your Driver Leader for details.
· Effective date is November 27th, 2017. The truck speed change will begin on and after that date.
· Truck speed will be adjusted on the next B service. Many shops will be able to make truck speed changes at other times. Services and repair work will take precedence ahead of speed changes, so please be patient.
· This applies to company trucks only.
· No other speed parameters will be changed, including “Pass Smart” speed (currently set at 67 mph), etc.“
