Early reports from the Snohamish County Sheriff’s Department referred to a “parked semi”. New information from the Snohamish County Sheriff’s Department indicates that there was no truck attached to the trailer. The Sheriff’s Department also says that the trailer was parked legally.

Three people were killed and another was injured after an SUV crashed underneath a parked semi trailer in Lynnwood, Washington, this morning.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. on Alderwood Mall Parkway. A northbound SUV with four occupants slammed into the truck parked along the side of the road. The force of the crash wedged the SUV underneath a trailer.

Two people in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. One other person died en route to the hospital. A fifteen year old girl survived and is being treated for unknown injuries.
The truck driver was not present at the time of the crash and wasn’t injured.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
Police say that it isn’t uncommon for trucks and trailers to park along Alderwood Mall Parkway overnight.

Alderwood Mall Parkway between State Road 525 and 164th Street was shut down for hours for the investigation.
