Trucker And Veteran Exchange Gunfire On Florida Highway

Several shots were fired during a road rage incident in Bradford County, Florida, last night.

The incident began around 6:30 p.m. on Highway 301 when truck driver Kevin Dezurik, 45, was reportedly cut off by an SUV driven by 53 year old Guy Gould.

According to reports, Dezurik flashed his brights at the SUV. Gould responded by displaying a firearm. Dezurik claimed that he heard two shots.

Gould’s wife, who was asleep in the passenger seat of the SUV, told police she was awakened by popping noises.

The semi forced the SUV off the road. Dezurik told police that he planned to hold the SUV occupants at gunpoint, but they drove off. Dezurik also admitted to firing six shots at the SUV.

Gould later told Florida police that he served for 23 years in the military and suffers from PTSD, causing him serious memory problems. He claimed he did not remember firing on the semi.

Both men are facing an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges.

No injuries were reported.
