Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges For Gilman Truck Stop Shooting

Published:

Illinois police have arrested an Arkansas man for allegedly shooting another man at the Pilot truck stop in Gilman.

The shooting happened on Tuesday night around 9:30.

Police say that 38 year old Jason D. Sanders was involved in an argument with 48 year old Krzysztof Bogucki in the truck stop parking lot. The argument turned physical and Sanders reportedly produced a firearm, shooting Bogucki twice in the upper torso.

Sanders then left the truck stop in a semi.

Bogucki was able to make his way into the truck stop to ask for help. He was transported to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Illinois State Police stopped and arrested Sanders on southbound I-57 soon after.

Sanders has been charged with attempted murder and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. He is being held without bond.

The reason for the altercation between the two men is still unclear.
