Manager Shot At Houston Trucking Company, “Extremely Dangerous” Suspect At Large

Houston police are hunting for a suspect who allegedly shot three people including the manager of a trucking company as he was showing up for work on Monday.

The shooting spree began yesterday at 6 a.m. when police say that 61 year old Fannie McWhite was shot following a physical altercation at a home in northeast Houston with her ex-husband, 53 year old Russell Cormier. After shooting McWhite in the driveway of the home, witnesses said that Cormier drove away from the scene in a black pickup. Police said that McWhite was wearing a t-shirt with the logo of the company “Superior Truck Care” on it when she was killed.

Cormier has been charged with homicide for McWhite’s death.

Police soon responded to another fatal shooting at the Superior Truck Care location. Investigators say that Cormier shot 61 year old manager Thornton Bivins in the parking lot as he arrived for work in the morning. After the shooting, police say that Cormier fled the scene.

Investigators also say that Cormier shot his neighbor around 4:30 a.m. today. The man was transported to the hospital and is listed in stable condition. He is expected to survive.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says that Cormier is armed and should be considered extremely dangerous. They are asking for help from the public in locating him. He is described as “an African American male, 6 feet in height and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen driving a late 2000 model Dodge Stratus, black in color and missing the front driver-side hub cap.”

Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a cash reward of up to $5000 for information leading to the arrest of Cormier. You can contact Crime Stoppers by calling 713-222-TIPS (8477).
