Police Bust Truck Driver With 55 Pounds Of Cocaine During I-80 Traffic Stop

Published:

After stopping a truck driver for making “numerous traffic violations”, Nebraska police discovered three quarters of a million dollars worth of cocaine hidden in his rig.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a semi eastbound I-80 near Lincoln around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday after deputies observed the driver making several traffic violations.

A K-9 unit alerted officers to the presence of narcotics during the traffic stop.

When police searched the truck, they found 25 kilo packages of cocaine weighing 55 pounds. The Sheriff’s Office says that the street value of the drugs is approximately $750,000.

The truck driver, 56-year-old Gustavo Zamora, was arrested for possession of illegal drugs with the intent to distribute.

Investigators believe that Zamora departed from California, but they aren’t sure where he was headed.
