Semi Plows Into South Carolina Restaurant

Published:

A truck driver is facing charges after crashing into a Huddle House restaurant in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, early this morning.

Two employees were in the restaurant at 1:30 a.m. when the crash occurred.

Police say that 57 year old truck driver Arthur Hacker was driving too fast for conditions and was unable to make the turn at the intersection of Highway 52 and 17A.

Hacker’s out of control truck struck the Huddle House building.

One of the restaurant employees said, “It was the scariest thing to ever happen in my life. It went straight through the building and all the way to the back, toward the other business.

Witnesses said that Hacker was able to walk out of his truck after the crash but that he said he didn’t remember what happened.

Neither of the employees was injured. Hacker was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Hacker was charged with careless operation.
