Trucker Arrested At Distribution Center For Threatening To Shoot Police

A Nebraska-based truck driver was arrested yesterday morning at a distribution center in Massachusetts after making threats to shoot law enforcement officers.

Nationwide Safety Bulletin Sent Out After Trucker Threatened To Shoot Police

A safety bulletin was sent out to law enforcement officers nation-wide following an encounter between 61 year old truck driver Ronald Mockelman and police officers in the midwest. During the encounter, Mockelman reportedly threatened numerous times to shoot state troopers and other police officers.

After the safety bulletin was distributed, law enforcement officers learned that Mockelman was scheduled to drop off a load of produce at the Andover Market Basket distribution center in Andover, Massachusetts.

Local police teamed up with officers from the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section to arrest Mockelman, who they located in his truck early Wednesday morning. He was taken into police custody without incident and is being held on a $25,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 23.

Truck Driver Had Previous Record of Threatening DOT

Mockelman is still on federal probation for a 2015 incident during which he reportedly threatened DOT officers over the phone. On January 10, 2015, Mockelman left four messages at Nebraska DOT offices, one of which threatened that “Every last one of you is dead.” Nebraska courts sentenced Mockelman in October of 2015 to nine months in federal prison plus a year of probation following his release.
