On Wednesday evening around 6 p.m., a tractor-trailer carrying Hurricane Harvey relief supplies to South Houston was involved in a fatal accident.

The truck was traveling on Interstate 45 above Malloy Bridge Road, near the edge of Dallas-Ellis in Ferris, Texas. The location of the accident was about 3 hours away from Houston.
The tractor-trailer and a second vehicle were involved in a crossover collision.
The Wilmer Fire Department chief told NBC 5, “A northbound vehicle crossed the median and collided with a southbound 18-wheeler carrying relief supplies.”
The truck driver suffered minor injuries; however, 2 people in the other vehicle died.

Following the accident, as much of the relief supplies as possible were salvaged. The crash took almost 20 hours to clear.
