A truck driver discovered the body of a trucking company owner in his truck yard in Houston yesterday.
Police were called around 7:30 a.m. when a truck driver preparing to drive his truck off of the Flatway Transportation lot discovered the body of the company’s owner — 40 year old Wilmer Erazo.
Early Morning Confrontation Leads To Fatal Shooting
According to police, Erazo was preparing his truck for a trip to Laredo around 2:30 a.m. on Monday when he became involved in some sort of altercation with two suspects. Said Houston police, “He was coming in preparing his truck and that’s why the hood is up on the truck. And either he confronted someone or he confronted someone.”
Witnesses reported hearing gunfire around 2:45 a.m. and then seeing two men running along a nearby street.
Erazo was shot at least once in the confrontation.
Investigators do not believe that the incident was a botched robbery attempt.
Erazo leaves behind three children.
If you have any information on the shooting, you’re asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
