A red Peterbilt was stolen from a family-run Jacksonville trucking company overnight — and the owner is offering thousands of dollars in exchange for its return.
When an employee working for Miranda Contracting arrived for work this morning just before 6 a.m., he noticed that the 2005 Peterbilt truck was missing. Miranda Contracting co-owner Joshua Garrison believes the truck was stolen from inside the locked construction yard and may have been hot wired.
Garrison says that the truck was hooked up to a trailer, but the trailer was disconnected and left at the yard. Garrison said that the truck was not equipped with a GPS tracking device.
Garrison took to Facebook to get some help locating the missing semi. He initially offered $3000 for its return but has now doubled the reward to $6000. In a statement to CDLLife, Garrison noted, “it’s hurting my business because we need to haul our heavy Equipment around town with our low-boy and now we can’t. It’s slowing construction jobs.”
