Woman Faces First Degree Homicide Charges

Police arrested 43 year old Mariana T. Lesnic. She faces first degree homicide charges and is being held on a $1 million cash only bond. She is in custody at the Iowa County jail.

In Iowa, a first degree homicide conviction carries with it an automatic sentence of life in prison without the chance of parole.

The identity of the truck driver has not yet been released pending the notification of family members.

The motive for the homicide is still unclear. The incident remains under investigation.

The rest stop was shut down for several hours for the investigation. It has now reopened.
