Trucker Tied Up And Locked In Trailer During Armed Robbery

Canadian authorities are seeking three suspects who tied up a truck driver and left him locked in a trailer for hours during a robbery yesterday.

The incident began around 5:30 p.m. in Oakville as a truck driver prepared to haul a load of automotive parts to a Ford plant a short distance away.

Truck Driver Forced Into Trailer At Gunpoint

A red 2005 Kia Sedona pulled up next to the semi. One of the men inside the Kia exited the vehicle, threatened the trucker with a gun, and then forced him inside the trailer. One of the suspects then drove the truck off the lot.

As the truck was in motion, the truck driver noticed a gap in between the trailer doors and stuck his hand through the gap to try to signal for help. The Kia occupied by the two other suspects was following the semi, and when they saw the driver trying to signal for help, they contacted the first suspect and had him pull the truck over. After the suspects made sure that the trailer doors were secure, they continued driving for about an hour until they arrived at a parking lot in Mississauga.

Victim Left Bound In Another Trailer While Suspects Flee

There, they forced the driver into another trailer and tied his hands and feet.

The victim overheard the suspects say that they had no use for the contents of the stolen trailer. The suspects fled the scene.

The truck driver was trapped inside the trailer for about 90 minutes before someone heard him calling for help and rescued him.

Halton Regional Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the three suspects. They are each described as black males of average height and build. One of the men was clean shaven and they all wore bandanas. If you know anything about the incident, you’re asked to call 905-825-4747 ext 2216.
