Two people were serious injured on Wednesday during an explosion at a trucking company in Duncanville, Pennsylvania.
The incident happened around 1:20 p.m. at Metzler Brothers Transport Inc. when two workers were cleaning a fuel tank.
One man was inside the tank at the time of the explosion while the other was on top of the tank. According to police, “that individual was blown off the top of the tank and landed on some of the running gear that was attached to the trailer.”
Investigators believe that the explosion caused a flash fire, which they believe quickly burnt itself out.
Both men were airlifted to the hospital for treatment of their burns and injuries. It is unclear how severe their injuries are at this time.
Police refused to comment on what caused the explosion until they spoke with the two employees.
OSHA will be joining in on the investigation in to the explosion.
