Trucker Wayne talks briefly about his motto when he first started driving: “never say no in trucking.” He begins by stating the obvious – truck drivers need to make money.
He reminds new drivers that your performance inside that truck absolutely relates and is connected to how well you get along with dispatch, how well you run, and how many miles you get.
The advice he got when he first started driving was to inform dispatch of what he could leagally do in each sitution he was offered. He did not simply deny a load, he informed dispatch of what he could legally do.
Wayne then comments, “Great dispatch will always be able to see your hours.”
