The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a motorist captured frightening video of a state trooper speeding in the wrong direction, narrowly missing oncoming cars and semis.
The video was captured on Sunday afternoon on Highway 321 in Newton, according to local news station WNCN.
According to reports, the NCHP had received several calls about illegal street racing at this time. It is believed that the wrong way trooper was responding to that call.
Seven people were arrested on Sunday on charges related to street racing.
The NCHP says that they are investigating the video. They have declined to release the name of the trooper at the wheel.
