Thousands of truck drivers will have just 30 days to be medically re-certified after an Alabama-based chiropractor was arrested and indicted for allegedly conducting fraudulent driver exams.
According to a public statement from the FMCSA, any driver who received medical certification from Dr. Kenneth G. Edwards in the past two years will have just a month to obtain new medical certificate from a qualified examiner.

Drivers who received their medical qualification screening from Kenneth G. Edwards, Doctor of Chiropractic, National Registry No. 4114329794, of Phenix City, Alabama, WILL BE OFFICIALLY NOTIFIED IN WRITING THAT THEY MUST BE MEDICALLY REQUALIFIED WITHIN 30 DAYS. Drivers that fail to obtain medical requalification within the 30-day time period will be medically disqualified from operating a commercial motor vehicle in interstate commerce. The FMCSA alleges that Edwards was not performing his full duty in administering DOT exams to truck drivers and that “examinations were incomplete, required tests were not performed, and information on medical examination forms was falsified.”
Edwards has been indicted by a federal grand jury and faces charges of conspiracy, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, making false statements, and falsification of federal records.
