Argument at gas station leads to trucker on trucker shooting

A truck driver was seriously injured today when an argument with a fellow truck driver took a violent turn.

The shooting took place after 9 a.m. at the Finnway Service Station in Dale County in southern Alabama.

Rocket City Now reports that a log truck driver and a fuel truck driver began arguing over a parking spot. At some time during the argument, the log truck driver pulled out a gun and fired at the fuel truck driver.

“It appears there was some sort of disagreement and one of the men apparently retrieved a handgun and shot the other,” explained Dale County Chief Deputy Mason Bynum.

When police arrived on scene, the log truck driver was inside the store and surrendered without incident.

The fuel truck driver took two .22 caliber handgun shots to the neck. He was later transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The log truck driver was taken into police custody for questioning, but it isn’t clear whether he will be charged.

This is a developing story.
