Beer heist: Cops say someone stole a trailer containing $150K worth of Coors Light

Published:

Police in Delta, British Columbia, are asking for help from the public in finding the person responsible for a massive beer theft last week.

According to Delta Police, the theft occurred on January 20 just before noon.

Police Find Trailer, But No Beer, One Day After Theft

“Surveillance footage shows a red semi-truck enter the lot, and hook up to the trailer containing the beer at approximately 11:45 am January 20. Based on the company’s GPS tracking systems, we know the trailer was then driven to the 8000 block of Blundell Road in Richmond, approximately half an hour later,” said Delta Police spokesperson Cris Leykauf.

When police recovered the trailer on January 21, all 2,592 cases of Coors Light — valued at $155,000 — were missing.

Delta Police are asking any witnesses to the theft — or anyone who spots an unusual amount of Coors Light lying around — to contact them. Said Leykauf, “This is definitely an unusual theft. We’re asking that anyone who may have seen some noteworthy activity, or perhaps is aware of some odd circumstances around the sale of beer to contact Delta Police at 604-946-4411.”

Witnesses who prefer to remain anonymous can report their tip by calling Crime stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
