Death of trucker at Iowa Pilot Flying J to be investigated as homicide

Police say that they believe that a long haul trucker found dead in his vehicle at an Iowa truck stop on Monday was murdered.

Louisiana Truck Driver Found Dead At Truck Stop

On Monday just before noon, police were called to the Pilot Flying J in Davenport, Iowa, because a truck driver was discovered unresponsive inside his vehicle.

When officers arrived, they found 47 year old Louisiana based truck driver Chuck Olivier dead at the scene.

The Davenport Police Department has released few details about the incident publicly, but they did announce that they will investigate Olivier’s death as a homicide. An autopsy has been scheduled.

Police Ask For Witnesses To Come Forward

Olivier’s ex-wife Miranda Lee told The Advocate that Davenport Police had informed her that Olivier had died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.

Lee also reported that she had last heard from Olivier on Saturday night, when he told her that he was having dinner with a fellow truck driver. She said that when she tried to call him on Sunday morning, he did not answer. Lee stated that, “Sunday night, when nighttime came, it just didn’t seem right. Something went wrong after that dinner.
