Roehl Transport, long recognized as a Top Pay Certified Carrier by the National Transportation Institute, has multiple pay programs allowing experienced truck drivers to choose how they want to be compensated.

“At Roehl, we listen and respond to driver feedback, and that goes a long with our driving teammates,” says Tim Norlin, Vice

President of Driver Employment. “That’s why we have pay options so drivers can earn up to their potential in a way that’s most comfortable to them.”

One option is the Premium Mileage Pay Plan. Based off Roehl’s Your Choice Pay Plan, which CCJ honored with the Innovator Award in 2014, experienced drivers in the Premium Mileage Pay Plan can earn a pay raise each quarter based on their performance. In the Premium Mileage Rate plan achieving higher levels of Your Choice Performance Points leads to higher mileage pay. “We believe that the best performers should be our best paid people as well. And, we believe that how you perform is your choice, so if you choose to perform well, we want your pay to reflect that choice,” Norlin said. “You do well, and your pay goes up. If you have six months of declining performance, your pay declines to match,” he explained.

As more and more experienced drivers have joined Roehl, they’ve found Roehl’s performance pay plan unique compared to what they are used to. “So we’ve created a new pay plan that’s more traditional and recognizable as commonplace across trucking companies,” Nolin noted. “The Performance Bonus Pay Plan is for those drivers who like a mileage rate that doesn’t vary with performance and a bonus based on performance,” he said.

In addition to the mileage pay plans, the company recently increased pay in its Flatbed, Refrigerated and Curtainside Fleets, where customer demand is strongest, and created Pay Accelerators that reward drivers for their experience and other factors that apply to all divisions, including Dry Van, where excellent driving opportunities also exist. Roehl offers professional drivers a variety of fleet and home time options including national, regional and dedicated positions with most drivers receiving weekly home time.
